I have not seen an UWB badge on any recent JLR cars that I've driven (replacement, test drive, etc.). They are all similar to my 2019 key, that has just this marking inside and not on the back: MODEL: PEPSFOB from the web: The term PEPSFOB on a car key model stands for Passive Entry Passive Start Fob. This refers to a key fob that uses a Passive Entry Passive Start (PEPS) system. A PEPS system allows you to unlock and start your car without physically using the key. Instead, the car and key communicate wirelessly using radio frequency signals. When the key is near the car, you can unlock the doors and start the engine simply by pressing a button. This technology offers convenience and ease of use, as you don’t need to take the key out of your pocket or bag to access and start your vehicle. So, is this UWB or not? |

That sounds like plain old “keyless entry/keyless start” to me, why am I not surprised if the LR website info is incorrect :rolllaugh: seems we are no further forward as to how to tell the difference, assuming you have a model in the changeover period.

UWB came with the 2018 model year facelift, so nothing before that is UWB. |

So, does this mean that I didn't meet one of the "from 18MY select vehicles"? Anyway, called the dealer today and my VIN does not have a security update. |

No idea - I wouldn’t have thought keys are market-specific. Can you check TOPIx? |

In the days when one could check one's car configuration in TOPIx, the only mention about keys was:

Maybe the security updates/recalls are market-specific? |

Just updating this thread: I had the N877 security update applied by local dealer this week, (MY 2017) whilst car was in for service - I had to prompt them to do it mind you.

The car knows and won't let you lock it with the key or keys left in the car. Go try it, I dare you. |

Yes, you get three peeps or so and it won’t lock. Unless you have that funky wrist band and lock it with that (I don’t have it but have on occasions on the beach wished I had optioned it, but it’s a bigger issue for me to look at myself in a wetsuit so I quickly forget) L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)...
