Low boost pressure,

Hi, car going into limp mode If revved above 2000rpm, been told it’s low boost pressure, can anyone throw some light on this one for me please, been also advised that it could be an actuator getting stuck, problem has been intermittent up till now, thanks FF TDV8 WESTMINSTER EXTERIOR DESIGN PACK 2012

Could be damage to the intercooler hoses, a tiny tear wil cause problems as the engine rocks when accelerating. If it is the turbo actuator, the R/h side (Off side) is reasonably accessible, the L/H side is a different story, lots of info on the site. Probably easiest to use an endoscope for a mobile from underneath the car ( don't forget the axle stands!) to find the blessed thing, then use a bent coat hanger or similar to work it up and down, then spray with 3 in 1 oil or similar through a bit of hose and compressed air, I don't think WD40 is the right stuff to use as it dries up and can cause the problem to re-occur but as I said, there is lots of info on the forum.

If it's only happening when 2nd turbo kicks in at around 2500rpm a common issue is the valve which diverts the flow gets sticky and throws a restricted performance warning. It can be seen low down on the right side by the radiator. Some 2012 cars had an updated valve which wasn't so problematic but do a search on here as there is plenty of info on this. The previous poster seems to be refering to the 3.6 engine which has different issues with it's turbo's which you don't need to worry about. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Hi, thanks for that, it’s restricted performance in yellow so still drives fine but if I boot it a bit it’s goes red and into limp mode, hopefully going to make it to Swanley in Kent later today for LR Technician is going to plug it in, fingers crossed FF TDV8 WESTMINSTER EXTERIOR DESIGN PACK 2012
