I already called the number on his website but there was no answer and no call back, it’s also not clear where he’s based. Anyone in Essex do it?

Bodsy is mobile so all over UK but is incredibly busy and booked up. Why? Because he’s bloody good at what he does. Patience is key. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

I found a text message to be the best way to arrange a booking.

I put my car details & location in the request & asked if he was near me anytime soon.

When I contacted Ian about my TD6 5 speed box, he replied that he does 6 and 8 speed only and recommended Martyn Hinds at Dartford Transmissions.
If yours is one that Ian can service, his reputation here and elsewhere suggests it'd be worthwhile to continue trying to get in touch with him. If not, you have Dartford not too far away.

Cheers

Ok I’ll keep trying. If not I’ll go to Martin, he looked after our last one.

I’ve got to get prices to get it done, no idea how much he charges.

Can't help you with price indication as in the end I decided to change trans fluid and filter rather than have it flushed.

I don’t think Bodsy does the early gearboxes so I’d go with Martin Hind at DTA 👍 Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Is it better to flush or just replace the pan & filter and put new oil in?

I had a recent gearbox service (160000M interval) I asked the Indy whether he would flush it and he remarked ' unless you've had this flushed before I wouldn't recommend it' so I asked why and he said it would probably disturb any crap sitting against the housing and then it could float around later on.
Anyway the oil that came out was pretty clean, didn't notice any change in the gearbox behaviour, which by all accounts is good too.

Does Bodsy use chemicals to get all the crap out first, before doing the Megaflush ???

I don’t think so. I’m certain he does a fantastic job. I’m just looking at what is better because the cost of a pan, gaskets and the oil doesn’t work out too bad if I do it myself.
I’m fine to get a flush but if that’s not the best option then I’ll not do it.

What’s better a flush or a new pan and oil?
