2019 5.0 AB - sep fob or not?

Hi, I'm picking up a 2019 5.0 AB in 8 days (and counting!).....

Question - does anyone know if this model/year would have the separate fob that I think activates the FBH, or is it just the LR Remote app used to cool/heat the cabin?

Sales chap thinks there are just 2x keys, no separate fob.

LR spec brochure says "Cabin pre-conditioning", but doesn't say how this is triggered.

Thanks!

Mines a 2018 AB and has the fuel burning heater. You don’t really need the remote though, as you can do it from the app if you pay for remote services (about £35 per year) My Previous RR's!

my app starts the engine (and that cant work because of the immobiliser) so would have to use a fob or the timed climate First time FFRR owner

Yes, you can't operated the FBH from the app, only the remote or by setting a timer in the car. If you use the app, the engines starts, so the same as a vehicle without a FBH.

You should have a remote for it, yes. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

It was quite an expensive option I believe in the petrol models. I am fortunate to have the fob and can confirm the fob will heat the car without starting the engine. The app starts the car unless you have an aftermarket immobiliser fitted. I would imagine when you do collect the car if you’ve got auxiliary heating in your home menu you just need to buy a fob ( two different types ) and program it to the car. There is a fantastic video on pairing the fob on YouTube. 2021 SVautobiography Dynamic Black ( Black wheels need to go )

Thanks all, and to close this thread out, when I flagged to the sales chap that the build sheet had an entry about a remote fob, he managed to find it! Smile

Mine has a fob, I didn’t know that remote services were different, but that’s hopefully good for me. Mines a P400e and it won’t run the petrol engine if it’s plugged in charging. It’ll warm up on electric which then defeats the object of charging it (only to use some of the range to heat it!).

I’ll try the fob when it gets colder and report back. It’ll be pointless if it doesn’t run when plugged in as I take advantage of cheap electric at night (about 50p per full charge). My Previous RR's!

I have a 2021 AB - the spec sheet says 'Fuel operated heater + timer + remote' which I assume means that I should have the FBH rather than just the engine start functionality available through InControl?

If you go into the main menu and find all the goodies the car has. If you can find “ timed climate “ then you do indeed have it. I did post in this thread what the fob looks like for a 21My and a YouTube video to pair your fob that’s is your previous owner can’t find it. 2021 SVautobiography Dynamic Black ( Black wheels need to go )

Follow-up......

Dealer found the fob, and it works fine - press on, get green flashing light, and FBH active, and can feel warmth into cabin after it has been running. Smile

Question - what's the use case difference between FBH and using the LR app - that actually starts the engine?

Just thinking ahead to winter when it is proper parky, and the car is iced up - am I better off firing up the FBH, or the LR App that starts the engine?

Is there a rule of thumb e.g. If A, then use FBH, and if B, then LR app to start the engine?

Thanks as always, Toby.

I’d always use the FBH. Much better than letting the engine just idle from cold, I can’t think of a scenario when starting the engine would be the better option.

I may be proved wrong! Laughing MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid
