That’s very kind of you, it’s a little too far for me to pop round at the moment (young child taking up all my spare time!) but if there’s an unexpected trip to my mother-in-laws very soon (Hintlesham) I will let you know.

I wouldn't buy a used battery unless it's got proven history like Steveg as you will never know if the car or the battery is at fault. They are cheap enough new. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

My Ctek charger finally came today, a big improvement on my trusty old Halfords one that got me out of bother many a time.

If the car’s BMS can run an AGM battery then get an AGM battery. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I can only presume it can as it seems have been ok since it was fitted many years ago, I will seek clarification incase it helps anyone else. It seems that dealers were / have been fitting them to L322’s from the year 2007 and up.

When you give them your VIN, also ask if the software needs upgrading so that the BMS can take advantage of an AGM battery - you may be lucky and your car is already using BMS that has the smarts to take advantage of the AGM battery ( even though we don't have Start/Stop functionality )

That's one clue you may have AGM compatability as they should not be charged over 15 volts. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

aha, then I don't think the ECU is in the way, so no need for the TS30 torx tool

Thanks. Watched it, I guess if I replace like for like I won’t need to tell the car it’s got a new battery?!

There must be a fairly easy test to check the cars BMS as the AGM battery has a defined battery charging sequence. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
