Radar sensor blocked.

Hi All,

Has anyone had their radar sensor replaced? Mine is not working and needs replacing.

Do you need any special diagnostic machine/software once the new radar sensor is installed?

Thanks.

It needs to be aligned fairly well (usually done with an alignment device) and will need to be set to calibration mode.

Thanks for the response, could you be more specific with what type of alignment device it is please?

They are often aligned using a diagnostic tool, there are various possibilities for them going wrong but I’d suggest assuming it’s broken is possibly the route of last resort.

This is at the optimistic end of the rainbow;

And this is a good example of how a calibration of the unit might sort it out;

Go to around 14mins to save a load of nonsense.

I think it’s worth exploring some of this before replacing what is going to be an expensive part.

I set mine's alignment by eye when I retrofitted ACC to my L322. I feel that it's a little low and a little to the left.

However mine now permanently causes the radar unit blocked message. I had set it to caibration mode, disconnected the battery, removed the bumper to ensure no debris or mud and lastly reloaded the radar unit firmware then set to calibration mode again but the message persists and the unit won't calibrate. As the L322 doesn't have the option to switch off ACC, I have reconfigured the CCF to not support ACC whilst I consider my options.

Hi All,

Just encase this helps anyone..

I bought a used sensor from eBay, fitted it and it worked just by plugging it in.
