You might want to search out a post detailing a very neat modification to the rear aux which allows a lead to be plugged in permanently and the lid to still close.

Not much trim needs to be removed. You can feed the power cable ( and the aux) under the dashboard and pick it up in the front corner.

I’ll keep searching, but basically you just need a 3.5mm aux extension lead with a 90’ plug on the end that plugs into the socket., meaning no modification to the existing car wiring.

Thanks Baltic Blue. I actually already do this. I was thinking of a wiring mod to completely hide the aux cable in the armrest somewhere. Yes, I know I’m ocd…………….. |

Ok took the plunge today and removed the centre vent, and ran the wires down to the fuse box.

I know that I have read a post detailing a very simple mod to the rear aux socket, but have not managed to find it using search.

With regard to modifying the rear auxiliary socket (2006-2012 L322s) what I've done in all of mine is remove the plastic cover below the flap which conceals the auxiliary port and power point.
