Swan neck to 2” connector adaptor?

Evening everyone
I’m wanting to put a carrier system onto my L405 which is fitted with a Westfalia swan neck towbar. I need to convert or find an adaptor to create a 2” receiver so I can slip the carrier into the receiver. The only thing I can find is using a bak-rak adaptor to attach to the swan neck but then I’d need a flanged 2” receiver adaptor. If I had my old L322 it would be easy as the detachable housing is located into a 2” socket on the towbar. I’m not intending to tow with this attachment, I just want to create a 2” receiver connection
Any advice welcomed….this is the carrier I’m wanting to use. I have the bak rak swan neck adaptor so I’m looking for a flanged receiver.

The 2" recievers certainly used to exist for the L405, Red Merle had one fitted to his - Picture on page 2 - https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic45243.html

If you could source one, that would be the best and safest solution IMHO - the more other adapters you introduce, the dodgier it gets, particularly with the sort of weight that looks intended for....

Yeah, your going to be using adapters on top of adapters on a ball swan neck and quite a heavy load with considerable weight on that lever point, which doesn't sound like a good idea. At best it's going to be unstable and wobble all over the place, most likely will just sink to the ground if it doesn't snap off at the ball joint.

To alleviate that you'll need to consider some additional support, say ratchet straps from the tail of the rack to the top of the lower tailgate to stop it tipping over, sort of triangulation of the load.

But good luck anyway.

I hear what you’re saying but given the swan neck is rated to 150kg, the bak rak adaptor is rated at 100kg and my need is to add 90kg the load on the swan neck is less than I normally load it for my caravan (my target and recommended towball weight is 100kg) I’m happy to try a receiver. The only potential turning moment will be in the bak rak adaptor as everything else are solid/bolted connections. Shame there isn’t a detachable 2” receiver adaptor which would be perfect. I don’t want to add anything like a ‘strap’ to the tailgate as mine is a composite (plastic) construction so very lightweight.

@nambFFRR
Not sure where you are in the UK but, I have a 2" receiver you can have for the price of postage. Might be able to adapt it to suite.
