Update to air suspension problem

Hi, as previously posted having an issue with the car dropping at the front when parked up.

Took the front nearside wheel off first as I suspected this to be the dodgy sensor and as I started to jack the car up the airbag started to release the air very fast. Cleaned up the sensor but know I will need to cut off the old corroded bolt at the bottom which was basically just rust to change the sensor.

Started the car which lifted straight away and 4x4 screen and gap showing incorrect data from ride height control, cleared fault which hasn't come back but car has dropped at the front again.

I'm assuming the airbags dont deflate themselves when the car is lifted and its got a dodgy sensor, never known the car to release air when jacking but hoping others know better and it is indeed time for a new airbag to the wheel.

If the air is releasing from the bag itself then it’s leaking as the suspension air release is on the compressor in the boot. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Thanks for the reply, I just checked with soapy water and its coming out at the bottom of the airbag just under the folded part.

That's always the first thing to check - its the most common failure.

Looking at the difference between swapping the air bag compared to the whole strut I’m thinking of just changing the whole strut as it’s not a massive job. I have the Gap to calibrate the suspension and don’t see any big issues changing it myself and saving on garage labour costs.

Save yourself from future grief and do both fronts at the same time. Wink The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom Smile
