Side step collapse!

So my near side side step (which I think is original LR) has given out whilst on holiday in Cornwall. A combination of rust, repeated roof box access and an Xxl owner have caused it to give (with an awful, rusty crunching sound!).

I couldn’t see any single used ones on eBay, so started looking at new ‘aftermarket’. There were some threads from a few years ago but looking for any recent recommends for good value steps that will take the weight of a real man Rolling with laughter

Do aftermarket steps fit onto the LR brackets (which I hope are still good) or is it a full replacement?

Does anyone have a left side step? My Previous RR's!

I had some fitted approx two years ago From a company called:
www.sidesteps.co.uk
They are on my sport L494. Was recommended by a fellow member on that site (Tyrefitter) Andy.

Went to their place in Northampton. steady drive down and back, all fitted in less than one hour.

Look as good today as when fitted, super strong, By far superior quality to those I had on my Disco 3.

Me approx 6' 18 + stone No problems whatsoever Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Not the cheapest, however Look great and You can see the quality.

Cost me around £400 fitted. very happy Thumbs Up

Unnecessary quote removed

easy tiger, mine did this. If yours had the same failure as mine, what happened is the rivets securing the silver metal trim had corroded then broken when flexed when my lump of a carcass stepped on. I drilled the remaining rivets off and drilled pilot holes a bit bigger and self tapping screws to put the trim back on. The step was fine. Both sides eventually did it but it's a quick and easy fix. Have a look underneath and see what's going on First time FFRR owner

hopefully it is the same problem, the design looks exactly the same as mine. the first time if happened I thought the same as you, a horrid crunching noise but as more rivets came off it became more obvious. Mine have been great since the repair and I love having the steps, I know to everyone does. First time FFRR owner

Did you take them off to fix them, or do it in situ? My Previous RR's!

put it in off road height and drilled off the remaining rivets, releasing the trim, then drilled the pilot holes then put in the self tappers. there may be easier methods though First time FFRR owner
