Thanks I will check this afternoon when free. On my iPhone in setting- then general I have car play- then it says Range Rover and Idcore. It also says set up CarPlay by pressing and hold the voice activation on the steering wheel. |

From what I see, the CarPlay functionality is made by Idcore, https://id-core.co.uk/

Yeah, mine is connected to carplay and the original car BT and I get sound, I didn't when I bought it and it was one of those settings I mentioned at the start, I guess there are multiple reasons, mine is a lot better since I got a new carplay dongle, they obviously update them fairly often...

Thanks Pete, I checked the website they don’t give support for idcore as you need to go to the dealer you bought it from. As I did not buy it as it came with the car that’s the end of that. Not too worried as long as it has the navigation and works through CarPlay I can live without the sound. Might consider the car play dongle. |

You have to be careful and get the right dongle, most are to convert wired carplay to wireless, not add carplay to an Android unit.... it's never easy and is the most expensive the best...?? probably not... Pete

I'm using navigation (Waze, Google & Apple Maps) on mute anyway... |

Yes I think that is the way to go, I was advised my audio specialist in Cardiff that it is a common issue with after market CarPlay. He offered to have a look at it , if I wanted to. |
