Thanks for your advice, soaked in penetrating fluid overnight and it came out this morning fine, just got to put the new one in and put everything back, this really is as bad a job as everyone says.

It's not a nice job, but it is manageable on a driveway. I can't believe when I originally rang round garages, none of them wanted to do it (including 2 LR specialists), so by default I had to do it myself. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Hi Gary, thanks for this guide. Don't suppose you could advise what the final code of the error message is? Sounds like there are 6x sensors, I have the code P040D-00 Exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor A - circuit high (2B) , I noticed the linked thread ended in 2F.

00 is the sensor in this thread. See the step for testing the resistance and continuity of the sensor. It requires no removal of any parts to diagnose. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Thanks for the quick response, I assumed it was sensors A to F! I will check that out, only noticed when using IID to reset service indicator, no error lights, but reoccurs straight away.

Thanks for the guide was working perfectly for me yesterday whilst doing viscous fan replacement at the same time.

Got the 13mm socket well seated on the sensor and having been soaking in WD40 for the day tried to undo. Certainly felt tight but did then let go, turns out I’ve sheared the head off the threads.

Any bright ideas for removal or next steps!

Having done that job myself went OK, that really is a bad situation to be in maybe a stud extractor, I think the head is stainless steel so well hard to saw or file. worse case the manifold will have to come off.
