I have a 2013 VSE and I’m interested in retro fitting deployable steps. What years are compatible with my 2013?

I think you will find that you will only go up to 2014/5 it has a switch next to the tailgate control, which controls the steps.

Same steps and kit for all the 405’s… Only difference is the wiring kit which is year specific sir… 👍 |

I've got an early L405 so obviously it has aluminium steps. The paint has worn off and so when deployed you can see the aluminium where my foot makes contact. But when retracted there is a bit of aluminium showing on the edge but nothing else, can I just paint this edge. I can't see any reason why not but there may be something I'm missing. Also is the aluminium any better or worse than the later plastic steps. Geoff |

We have painted many Ali steps with ‘Raptor coat’ which is a kind of bed liner for pickup trucks, so is dead hard wearing… 👍 |

Thanks gents, the kit I got on eBay has the switch so I guess it’s the correct one!

Ok, I picked up the steps this morning and I’ve started stripping them for refurb.

Should these slide out easily or best left in place ?

My retrofit continued with testing the motors (yellow and orange wires connect to 12v battery). All good so very happy so far..
