Cover - Battery Box thingy location help

Hey people,
So I found this in the boot from the previous owner:

The part number is LR011469 but I'm afraid the parts diagram isn't much help- has anyone got any ideas where it belongs?
This is the best I could come up with:

... But I'm still confused as to what its supposed to be doing. Has anyone got a picture of one correctly installed?
