I'd be taking it back to whoever did the job for you. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

It is going back to them soon for a MOT so will be getting them to have another look then. I don't think the front flexi hose will be related to the oil cooler though will it? I am not sure what that hose is for. It seems to be a swaged end so no way to tighten it as far as I can work out |

That flexi is a power steering hose

I assume you mean oil cooler? There is usualy a resudue of oil leftover from a leaking cooler which may take a while to clear but worth getting the garage to check it anyway. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Had the same on mine. Replaced the oil cooler and still had the smell. It took a couple of runs before it was finaly got rid of.

Thanks DrRob, I will see about getting that replaced when it goes in for the MOT, it is the only actually leaking rather than seeping leak I can find. As I only smell burning after a motorway run, I'm thinking that it is the only time the windspeed is high enough to blow it back to the exhaust from the front of the engine.

It took mine ages to burn off residual oil spills after replacing the oil cooler. At least 2 months, mainly motorway driving. -------------------------

Thats good to know, I don't do that regular motorway driving, not crawling around but more A roads not over 50mph. |
