At the risk of making a bad situation worse, if you lower to access height and then back to normal, does the front drop and then rise again ?

Without a diagnostic tool like the GAP IID it’s tricky but have a look at the off-road display and see where the car thinks the wheel heights are as it could be a faulty height sensor making the car drop. You would hear an air leak if it was a leak that dropped it that fast. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

I've just tried the above (chuckin it down here today so not ideal for working on the car). The front went down as per access height, then back up when I selected normal height. However, it thinks (or is actually at) off road height at the front. On the basis of that, I'm ruling out the compressor. The system is obviously generating air. Hopefully the weather's better tomorrow and I can jack it up and have a look at the air hoses. Wondering if the valve block on the rear has suddenly failed or the feed pipe has come away somehow, mainly because the back sat down so fast yesterday. Thanks for you help so far - appreciated. |

Thanks for that. Raining a fair bit here today so will try this tomorrow - weather permitting. The back of the car sat down SO quickly - much faster than the system 'balancing' itself - that I wonder if it is was height sensor. I know they make rapid adjustments, but this was almost inmmediate. Tbh I'm leaning towards an air pipe/valve block issue, but I could be wrong. Let you know what happens when I try your suggestion. |

It's been mentioned on here before that the later VDS equipped struts are longer than the earlier versions and only the OE bags are the right length with others not fitting properly.

Would that not have been apparent when the new air bags were fitted? And, would an issue have presented itself in the six(ish) week since they were fitted?

VDS is standard on all 4.4 TDV8’s.

Yep, just checked - mine's got the units on the top of the front struts. |

I've just checked and my front struts are VDS - they've got the wired cap on the top of the strut. How would this affect the rear of the car though? |
