reviving this thread to ask if the defender wheels used bolts or nuts for these wheels..

i've seen a thread here saying that the new range rover L460 wheels use bolts so the 'normal' nuts used on the L405 do not fit properly , so a purchase of ford transit nuts is required..

wondering if the defender is the same as the L460.. ... - .- -.

I've seen a set of 5 of these at a really good price. Does anyone know whether they're OK on an L322?

Would either removing and re-using the original TPMS valves or getting another L405 set work? I don’t have an IID tool, and anyway would prefer to have the monitoring functional. 2018 L405 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

Re-using the originals would likely work.
If you bought another set, I *think* they might need registered to the car using IID tool or similar. V8 or else ...

When you say take offs, I assume that means that they are not Land Rover wheels, right?

Are they 20x8.5 ET41.5? Current: 2017 L405 ATB, 2016 LR4 SE

One more question, Fisha, if you don’t mind; What pressures have you settled on? The Defender runs 33 / 36psi, but I assume it’s considerably lighter than an L405! 2018 L405 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

Good question … in short 33ish on the front and 37-38 ish on the rear ( I tow a horse trailer from time to time )

In answering this, I found out that my gauge on the inflator hose was over-reading by quite a margin. When reading 38, the tyre was actually 30. Noticed it cause there was a wee bit of bulge more than I thought there should be for that pressure.

New inflator gun and now back up to 38 and the ride is markedly better and feels smoother somehow ( despite the harder tyre … hey ho ) V8 or else ...

In reply to the question raised by BDD123 regarding the term “take-offs”.

In the UK this refers to factory fitted wheels removed from new or nearly new cars by the main dealer or customising shop as part of an upgrade to a different LR wheel or 3rd party supplied wheel.

I’ve purchased “take-offs” a number of times from both LR dealers and customising shops and they can usually be purchased at bargain prices when compared to the new price.

I’d be interested to know if anyone has fitted the Defender style 5098 in dark satin to their L405. I had these on both of Defenders I’ve owned and they were great looking wheels and so easy to keep clean. 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

The 5 spokes were what I really wanted originally, but the ones I got were too good a deal
. … i found the finish on mine as easy to clean as any other wheel to be honest. V8 or else ...
