In practice, one of these boxes can manage 150,000 miles or more on the genuine fluid.

Does a 'megaflush' use the genuine ZF fluid? The sump has a filter and magnet and can develop leaks (mine did) to the seal with age as the rubber hardens so it' a good idea to have this replaced with a genuine one. Not sure if this is ofered as an option during a megaflush? The service kit includes a new sump and enough oil to change about 1/2 the oil which IMO is enough to prolong / preserve the gearbox. The idea of 'flushing' certainly sounds good but I'm yet to be convinced it offers a genuinley better outcome than a 'service' using genuine oil and a sump. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

The mega flush is a process, so I guess you could use whatever fluid you want.....

A megaflush uses a lot of fluid so I suspect the cost of running it with the genuine ZF fluid would be prohibitivley expensive. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Yes, genuine fluid only for the final fill.

I've spent the last 3 months of emailing & leaving messages with Bodsy & as he's not got back to me have decided to do it myself. I have research the whole thing & as to a Megga flush vs partial oil change & new filter/pan I've come down with the thought that its best to do a partial genuine ZF oil change & filter and then in 12 months time just do another oil change without changing the filter of course. That should of changed at least three quarters of the oil. I will then have piece of mind that the filter & oil has all been done with genuine parts. I will also change some of the internal seals at the same which costs very little to do. But whoever you speak to has their own opinion on the subject, so I recon just replace like for like & you won't go far wrong. 2010 RR Autobiography 5.0 SC
