United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 V8 Stornoway Grey
2011 L322 4.4 TDV8 Correct Battery Specification?

Hi folks,

I have bought a new battery for my car, as I believe an incorrect one was fitted previously.

However, I've found it difficult to confirm the "proper" one, as it's not listed in the handbook, and the main recommendation on here is to upgrade to AGM, which they didn't originally have.

I've bought the following from Costco, is this the best option, or is there anything I have missed?

Bosch S5 A13, 12v, 95Ah, 850A (EN), AGM, Part No. 595 901 085.

I can't actually see "019" anywhere on the battery or in the shop, but I think that's what it is...

It was £173.98 inc VAT if anyone else is looking for one.

I replaced my old battery on my 2004 L322 with a Type 19 95Ah Bosch Lead Acid one
4 Year Guarantee and only £110 delivered from TAYNA

Mine is the S4 ( not the S5 you have - which is AGM and better for stop/start cars )

The dimensions of my Type 19 are - if you want to check and see if your dimensions are the same

Length 353 mm
Width 175 mm
Height inc. terminals 190 mm

An 019 is the correct specification.

As far as I've understood it, the 4.4TDV8 was originally supplied with an AGM battery, as it's fitted with a smart charging system which can ramp up charging voltage beyond that which a standard wet SLA battery can cope with. 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica.

Search the part number online and do a cross reference check on the spec. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I think the early 4.4s didn’t have AGM and there was a bit of a recall or such like, then AGM fitted from factory. Happy to be corrected.

019 is correct. I got a genuine one from the dealer for not much more than £100….

HI got a wet battery, Exide, 1000, 100ah, 900cch 019 battery as opposed to an AGM battery. I rarely get more than 20 mins or radio use after turning off the engine before I get the "low power - shutting down" message.

Is that a consequence of me not having an AGM battery or am I looking at a bigger problem ?

I could change it, but £150 on another new battery is a bit of a punt if it's not going to fix that.

How long should I expect to be able to use the stereo after shutdown ?

I fitted a new Varta G14 AGM to replace a 6-month old 'Napa AGM' battery (fitted by previous owner probably from Kwik-Fit) and it immediately cured my premature FBH shutdowns and low battery warnings after listening to the radio for a few minutes.

I listened to about half an hour of audiobook last night waiting for a colleague to finish work before driving home without any issues.

I also have a small solar panel in the back of the car in one of the quarter windows and even through the tinted glass it does a good job of keeping the battery voltage up even in winter. 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica.

I personaly wouldn't fit a non AGM battery to a 4.4 but this won't help with the shutdown issue after 20mins as this is just to do with the capacity and the way the power is managed by the ECU. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
