Picked up new set of Defender Alloys with 255/60 x 20 Scorpion Zero All Seasons from Sonearly.

Also fitted a new set of locking nuts as old ones rusting.

The new wheels certainly fill out the arches, I think it suits the car more than the 50 profiles, although 60 profile is a bit of a risk, thinking on it would have been better to go with 255/55 s.

Wheels have an ET 15mm less then standard L322 alloys so they increase the track by 15mm per side, so 30mm. Not a lot but you can see they do fill the arches better.

Ride is notably better over potholes, but noise seems the same as my Grabber GT+ on the other rims.

The only clearance problem is the OS front rubs on the arch liner at the sharks gill grills on full left lock reversing. Have resolved by grinding back the vents so it's flush and not proud and also reshaped the arch liner to sit slightly forward at that point with the help of a heat gun and persuasion.

I'm currently runnin 31psi on the front, 34 on the rears as on 33/36 the ride was a bit hard, I'll watch to see it that goes.

Speedo is obviously out, compared to sat nav, @ 30mph speedo is bang on, @ 70 on the sat nav speedo is showing 68, so if the profiles were 255/55 I'm sure would be bang on.

I'm sure not to everyone's taste, but I like it, very happy with the purchase, time will tell.

What’s it like in access mode?

Vertical clearance is fine, drove it around in circles forwards & backward no rubbing at all now. Been bouncing it over speedbumps this afternoon nothing touches,

I’ll give them a miss then. Mine are 255/55/20 AT3’s, the O/S rear rubs at the front of the liner where it bulges out on full wheel articulation. Yours does look good with the bigger tyres, not into bigger rims and skinny tyres on these, don’t look right.

Looks good, I have different defender ones on mine. Catches in the same place when I get time going to get the heat gun out . If I know I am going lock to lock it goes into off road hight and no issues at other times. They do fill out the arches well. 2005 D3 4.4V8 LPG

For the front arch I got a bit of 2 x 2 and cut to length, pushed it between the arch liner and the front hub with the wheel off, so the arch liner was forced to beyond where I wanted it to be, then with a heat gun went all around the "gills" area getting it hot, but not melting when I was happy removed the heat and let it cool with the wood in place, I think 10 minutes tops.

The liner spung back a bit as expected when I removed the wood but the new shape meant I got the clearance I needed and it's not going to pop back.

I had all the wheels off a few days later to inspect and thats the only place it was rubbing. Fuji White / Jet 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster

So, does that mean an L322 wheel will fit a new Defender then?
Guess it depends on the size of the front calipers on the Defender.
It would be a good plan to use an old L322 wheel on the rear door instead of the expensive Defender one. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Not so simple as the ET differs by 15mm. Defender wheel on L322 means the track extends by 15mm on each side so not much of a problem.

With an L322 wheel on a Defender that ET will bring the wheel rim inboard by 15mm so there will be a greater chance of rubbing to the arch liner or suspension components. Best check closely on the Defender to see if you have more than 15mm inner clearance.

Not sure, something in French I think. Its the distance between the centre of the wheel rim and the mating face of the wheel to hub vertically in mm

Disco 5 alloys on my 2004, 9.5" wide, 21" wheels, do fill the arches, with no rubbing....

Looks nice, sparkle silver contrasts the dark colours nicely. Fuji White / Jet 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster

I know it's only been a few days, but how has it been living with these so far? I have the opportunity to bag an unused set of 5 for less than it costs a set of tyres normally!
