I’ve had two RR Sports with the single turbo 2.7 litre. 195 BHP TDV6, both from new, in 2006 and 2009 respectively. Neither car gave me any bother at all engine wise, just some minor electrical bugs. Also had a 3.0 litre 300 BHP twin Turbo TDV6 Jag F Pace for a year from 2017 and the engine on that was fine for the 10K miles I had the car - electrics were a different story!

I had a 2007 Jag S-Type 2.7 diesel V6, twin turbo, though. It was good…while it worked.

I have the 2.7 in my Disco 3. Once the belts are done on time and it is maintained well its a good engine. I do find it a bit dead and that's why I went to a 4.4 RR but the engine itself never gave me trouble int he 5 years I drove it. I do use the heavier oil which quietened it a lot. Oh and the first job I did once I had the money was replace the oil pump, water pump and both belts Current yokes
