Did a day's marshalling on a vintage trial, having to drive over soaking wet grass is certainly entertaining, down hill is the only option, I'm sure the grass will recover in time, the old beast will now require a wash, badly.

Just drove it 100 miles… with a caravan on. Not the first time I’ve towed the caravan with the RR, but not towed with it that far before, or on motorways before.
The SDV8 and auto box is so, so much nicer than the 2.7 TDV6 and manual box of the Discovery 3 that we also own. Achieved about 23 mpg towing with both cars, so not much difference. The only area where the Disco wins is for low speed manoeuvring, especially on slopes, where the control of the manual and clutch gives finer control.

Fitted a genuine LR luggage divider/dog guard today. Now the dogs can make a mess of only the boot, and not climb over onto the back seats, then into my wife's lap.

Bought Fattyetta some new wheel locks, couldn't justify stumping up the £200 or so for the stainless steel hand crafted ones, but got these chromed / zinc plated ones with a so-called anti rust guarantee, time will tell.

Look very nice, will not fit them to the car until the new wheels come though.

Visited my parents 45 miles down the m20. Car is fairly new to me so impressed with this:

Fitted JXB Performance prop shaft centre bearing carrier. Rubbers on existing carrier were shot, this will help. The bearing is also shot but that’s a job for another day.

I spent the day yesterday changing all the fluids. Rear & front differentials, transfer box, engine, and power steering. I will do the coolant flush next weekend. luckily the rain held off for the day.  2010 RR Autobiography 5.0 SC

Removed all the arch liners and side sill trims to check for rust now the winter's over, 1st chance since getting the car.

Nothing in the front at all, no staining even, waxoyled using clear version so can see if anything appreas in the future.

Did the rears, small amount of staining and some minor surface corrosion, wire brushed off and converted using Nitromors inhibitor, followed by Tetraseal and Waxoyl clear.

Waxoyled all the sills and underbody.

Fitted Freelander trim on the rear arch lips previously, removed for visual check some signs of surface rust, so treated with Nitromors and Tetroseal, will not be refitting them as this was hidden from view. Plan to remove the rear arch liners at least once per year going forwards.

Picked car up from detailers then swapped over the steering wheels. Got my nice piano black overfinch steering wheel on my new 2011 overfinch. Now that makes me happy.

The infamous P040D-00 temperature sensor, plenty of soaking with penetrating fluid of your choice is the key.

Fed up with umbrellas rolling around in the boot where they can't be reached, bought a neat matching pair of storm resistant golfing umbrellas and mounted on the rear shelf using black plastic coated Terry's

Much better and can just reach over for them now and don't rattle.

Had it recovered for the second time in a week.

Well Yesterday really but I was so happy I forgot to post it.

MOT whoop whoop, all passed with one advisory, which totally contradicted the technicians at MD Taunton. when the examiner parked it outside the test centre I knew it had passed.

I've eventually got round to having a go at the Parking Sensor - Short to battery LED issue. After much deliberation I got hold of a 12v orange LED and spliced it into the relevant wire coming out of the parking sensor module and grounded it to the module attachment stud. Sensors now work again. No way I'm ever going looking for the dodgy bit in the loom or replacing the HVAC control module which shares the parking sensor switch and is £968 from JLR, if it's ever back in stock. Cost of bodge £2 for LED plus a Wago I had in stock and a crimp on ground eye from the same. I'll just put up with the lack of indication at the switch (which still shows as operative in IID live values).
Also ordered up some Viton o-rings for the turbo oil feed pipe which I suspect to be the culprit in sharting oil all over the place and smelling like the car has caught fire. I had to buy quite a lot so may make some of the spares available to the community, assuming they are the right size.  2011c Vogue SE 4.4 Oil Burner
