Hi Fisha, do you have the Defender alloys fitted to your L405? If so, do you have any pics? 2019 L405 SDV8 Autobiography

Just a word of caution for big tyres... The other day I had a combined height sensor and airbag fail and the car dropped to it's bump stops. I was able to drive a short distance to a safe pull over but when I was fixing it I noticed a bit of rub on the arches on my slightly oversized 255/55/R20 so I reckon anything bigger may have rendered the car stuck in the road? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Some pictures … I actually quite like them. They have a slightly wider offset, which counters the smaller rim size looking lost in the arches. I’ve not noticed rubbing as yet. Makes for a nice smooth ride compared to the 22” rims I have.

285/50/20 work well and are probably the largest you can go risk free without rubbing in all modes - plus you can get a spare in the tyre well - any bigger and it’s very unlikely you will 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17 |

Slightly surprised by this as it is .3 larger diameter and.8" narrower. What is your wheel and wheel offset? Current: 2017 L405 ATB, 2016 LR4 SE Past: 2001 RRR H&H, 1993 RRC SE, 1989 RRC, 1990 RRC, 1995-97-98 D1 |

I put these on mine after sourcing some rims and they fit well. I have also sourced a 20inch spare rim but have left the 255 55 50 tyre on it as it was very close in diameter and fits in the spare wheel well. I wasnt sure the 285 would fit there in terms of the height and it may protrude to high for the trunk cover. Did yours fit ok? |

Yes - just - Cooper AT3, 285/50/20, that was on my previous L405 - pre facelift - not tried on the latest one, just left the std spare in as it’s a space saver and there’s a foam infill beneath - I’ve never needed to use a spare on a RR in at least 20 years - think the last time was on a Classic in 1995 - now I’ve just given it the kiss of death and jinxed everything 🙈😂

Thanks for this. Admittedley it was a quick look but the stock 275 22's looked almost flush to the top of the trunk floor. I think I'll do similar to you and just leave the 255 55 20 rim and tyre in there as a backup. My OCD will have me respraying the spare bla bla incurring a bunch of cost for little gain. 2017 L405 Vogue SDV8 AB |
