Will be fitting a new front pair of struts soon and also the rears and the only thing I'm especialy concerned with is the integrity of the hose seal as it goes into the fitting to ensure it's leak free and I don't have to redo the job.... Any advice / tips are welcome on how to not mess this up  2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

It's a brass olive on plastic pipe, my struts came with new olives and nuts, I cut about 10mm off the end of the pipe till it was clean, then new nut and olive and do it up being carefully not to cross the thread, although it does fit very well and it's unlikely you will...

Then just do it up, make sure the olive is far enough down the pipe, it doesn't have to be real tight to seal, do it with fingers then about 1/2 to 1 turn, you will "feel" when it's done.

I was apprehensive about the first time I did one but it's one of those jobs you can over think and worry about and it's very straight forward....

Historical advice was to leave the connection alone and refit with the same one that came off (not disturbing the olive on the pipe, keeping the original nut). This had worked OK for me when changing the front struts, and when removing/replacing the rear bags. Of course, this requires that the pipe/olive/nut is not damaged in any way / was not previously leaking etc. .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

Did mine not long ago. Access to the airline is good compared to the rear air bags as long as you have a short 12mm spanner.
I used my old connector and all is good.
