Fine for driving without insurance may be 'unlimited'. They can also seize your vehicle and send it to the crusher. |

Just wondering are the pre 2017 cars getting hit harder with insurance costs as they don't get the free security software update that Land Rover are offering?

confused.com have a special running with RAC Car insurance at the moment (March 2024). Comes out as my cheapest option at £535 which is £100 lower than my renewal quote with Saga. |

Mine was due in 2 months. I remember reading an article suggesting if you renew early some insurers will offer a much better price than they will at less thnn 30 days before renewal is due. I tried it this time by getting quotes at 60 days. Last year Sheilas wheels charged £538 (age 60+ in devon with 20+ yrs NCB). Their renewal today £1100!

The Martin Lewis chap has tracked the dates the insurance quotes rise as you get near your due date for over a decade, and he suggests 23 days before is the sweet spot. Either way, don’t leave it till the last minute. It’s all about risk, and apparently those who leave it late have more accidents.
