It's not a difficult job with the right tools although depends on how badly the piston is siezed in the bore and if there is any corrosion to the bore. Do you have a compressor to blow the pistons out? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

i do have a compressor, so should be simple enough, is it worth checking them, if the corrosion isnt too bad to clean them down/respray then fresh piston/seals? and if fooked then replace.

I just rebuilt my rear callipers and its not a difficult job with new pistons. (With new Brembo disks and pads). The seized one would not blow out with air.

Definetly change the brake pipes - mine were ready to fracture when I took it all apart.

AUTODOC do regular offers on TRW branded rear calipers. I saw these last week at around the £90 mark ( each ) after a 45% discount. Perhaps, keep/ refurb the carriers and traveler pins and fit a pair of new ones at that price. TDV8 4.4 2012 |
