If you are saying the driveshaft is coming out of the front diff I would think that would only be possible if one of the control arms were broken? But then the car would be undriveable. Kevin

Its been known that some pattern part ds are slightly smaller than the original ones fitted by land rover, bet that's the problem here. |

Just thinking outside the box, do you think there is some misalignment due to a crash or something affecting the diff mounting and it's relationship to the wheel hub ?

Pattern parts will be your problem. I guarantee the pattern parts are slightly shorter than the originals. It's been documented on here somewhere before I'm sure.
