My new L322...

Hi all,

I'm finally the proud owner of a 2009 Buckingham Blue 3.6 TDV8 L322 having been scouring the wealth of knowledge of this site for a while.

My first two priorities will be a brake squeal and I've the odd persisting restricted performance with EML indicating a P0405 fault, EGR circuit A. I've a couple of questions if I may!

Re brakes - first plan is to strip, clean, lube and reassemble but failing that, I'll replace. I'm now on the hunt of anyone here who is offloading a 3T trolley jack and stands before I head out and get a new one.

EGRs... I want to capture this asap and my plan is simply to blank. On this topic is there a preferred way ie remove the pipe and plug each end or using just the one "MOT friendly" plate? I'm not fussed re MOT as you can't see under the cover.

I'll just then be on the look out for someone local armed with knowledge and an EGR map... I'm in the New Forest, Hampshire so please do reach out.

Anyhow, those are the priorities, here's a picture for good measure and you'll likely be hearing from me soon!

Cheers all.

Nice looking car. Always liked a Range Rover in blue. Good luck with ownership going forward.

Good choice of colour; my 4.4 is the same !

WRT brake squeal: I had this and spent ages cleaning & lubing brake pins etc….. it turned out to be crap quality brakes pads. I put in some EBC greenstuff pads and haven’t had a problem since.

Make sure your pad squeal retainer springs are correctly oriented; they should butt against the pad at the top but it’s easy to mistakenly fit them reversed.

As other have said it's hard to beat that exterior and interior colour combo - it just looks effortlessly classy and timeless. Just buy a GAP tool new as you can easily sell it later for not much more than you paid for it now so think of it as a safe investment and you can then do a DIY EGR map-out and be on top of all your diagnostics. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
