Calibration offset height sensors (Adaptive Damping ADCM)

So I tried searching here in the forum and also searched the internet but didn't find any clues or a solution. The IID tool shows calibration offset 65m for the two right sensors and almost 2.5m for the two left sensors. There must be something completely wrong (the sensors are new), the error message for the right sensors is mechanical failure, wrong mounting position and for the left sensors mechanical failure, alignment or adjustment incorrect. Maybe someone can give me a hint on how to tackle the problem?

If you have just put the new sensors on they could be flipped in the wrong orientation.

The spare part numbers for the front right/left sensors are identical to those for the rear right/left. You cannot mix up the sensors or mount them incorrectly. Things were different with the first sensor types. I think it should be possible to set the system to "0", i.e. factory setting. But I can't find anything about it. The background to the whole operation is the adaptive dynamics error message. I have a good friend who is a master at Land Rover, but anyway people are hopelessly overwhelmed with problems like this. The entire system is not particularly complicated in my opinion. Maybe my expectations of the specialist staff are simply too high.

I think what's being suggested is the arm of one or more sensors is in the wrong position, rather than the sensor themselves being in the wrong location(s).

The arm on a height sensor can 'flip' to the wrong side of its correct horizontal position. This needs a picture really, but I have to rush.

I'm sure someone will be able to grab a photo. I'll check back later and put one up to show what I mean if no one else has in the meantime.

The arms would collide with the subframes, making it impossible. By the way, the error messages after replacing the sensors are identical to those before the replacement, i.e. with the old sensors. All arms are orientated app. 90 degress to the outside of the vehicle.

No, I don't mean that they've flipped a whole 180 degrees! As you say that'd be impossible! Wink

It's hard to explain and I no longer own a Fattie (soon to be rectified though), so can't photograph the installed position. It's also difficult to find a photo online showing the height sensor in its fitting location.

Height sensors can end up the wrong side of their normal operating position, so if you think of a clock face with the sensor arm at the 9 o'clock position, well instead of operating between 9 o'clock and let's say 11 o'clock, they get installed flipped on the pivot point so they're the other side of 9 o'clock. So operating between 7 and 9 o'clock.

This can give the wild results you are seeing.
