Blown mega fuse again

Hi guys the Tdv8 is playing up again it has blown the mega fuse and I replaced it with a new one and went to start her today and it’s blown again …..Any ideas I was thinking maybe a bad earth lead as the starter was replaced last week and the earth in the drivers wheel arch got disturbed by the fitter but not sure if this would cause it to blow any help much appreciated as need the old girl up and running as the long haired general has a horse show at the weekend.

Fuses don't usually blow with an earth lead not grounding correctly, if anything nothing would happen as the loop would be open circuit, you might get the click of the solenoid, but the starter wouldn't throw.

More likely something wrong on the positive side of the starter, either an intermittant fault within the starter itself or the positive side shorting to earth externally, i.e. connector.

Make sure that the starter connectors are all clean and nothing is going to ground that shouldn't be.

If that's all good, start looking for signs of water around the main fuse box and starter relays.

Don't be tempted to fit a bigger fuse, you could start a fire and destroy your car, not to mention potential damage to yourself. Fuji White / Jet 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster
