Check your earth connections are ok can’t remember if it’s the 322 or 405 but one has a earth strap behind a front wheel liner that corrodes. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

I bought a cigarette lighter volt meter and keep it plugged in. Really handy to just look down and check what the voltage is. . Something like the below.

So, to close this one off, after a fair bit of investigation the new alternator was identified as being suspect.

12v is nothing to worry about. You can also monitor it via the secret touchscreen menu. The battery monitoring system is pretty sophisticated and will tell you if anything is wrong with the charging system. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |

Mine reads 12v until you start the engine. It then goes to 14.6 or 14.7v depending on how long since last driven |

Thought we only had that in France...had my alternator replaced 4 weeks ago 600 euro and same problem. New one was not up to it's job. Seems that garages are all the same, they put in some sh...y new part that cost them small money and the "patient" wont check. If it works it's fine and they make good money. If it doesn't work they will discuss and tell you it's not their fault, some wiring problem, or what ever. Took some "convincing" but they replaced it with decent one. Now it's fine |
