I’m wondering if it’s only the UK that’s seeing all these thefts? RHD thing perhaps? 2018 P400e AB LWB |

Some citizen investigators have uncovered that around 90 range rovers a day are being stolen in London alone: hence the JLR recall

So I read the Owners Manual and my 2012 supports Keyless Start but not Keyless entry. So as far as I know you physically need possession of the key to unlock the doors. Once inside, the car senses the presence of the key so it’s just the start button as normal. ( I accept that thieves have a multitude to ways to break in without the key but that’s true for all vehicles and not peculiar to LR). TDV8 4.4 2012 |

I finally remembered to check TOPIx today and can see the campaign. I have gotten my RR booked in for February. Do people know if this is at zero cost to us as it is a recall right? |

Good, I should have asked but I was caught a bit of guard by how friendly and helpful they were being for a change which made me think there must be money in it for them!

It’s just software, from what I was told it will only take all day if that’s how long it takes them to get around to it. |

That is what I suspected, 7 hours sitting on the lot and 15 minutes in the workshop I suspect! Sod it, I will take the replacement vehicle they offered even though I dont really need it! |

Had mine done, dealer said they had to replace the key internals as part of it and now programming keys is only possible my main dealers due to new encryption. __
