If there is no change in performance and no limp mode it’s likely to be a sensor fault - usually an Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor - there seems to be an issue with this due to extremely poor quality sensors - Don’t ask me how I know 🙈

Jase - sorry to hear that. I had exactly the same pop up a couple of days ago. Off to the dealer this morning to try and persuade someone to check the codes for it.

Get a cheap scanner that can scans as well as reset fault conditions. Maybe it was a spurious event and can be cleared. Try these https://www.autelstore.co.uk/wholesale/aut...anner.html

You can get this message for water in fuel which does not normally cause restricted performance. As above a cheaper scanner will generally provide the answer if not the full functionality of a iid tool.the advantage of the cheaper generic scanners is they don’t need coded to the car and can be used on other makes. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

Thanks all. Going in tomorrow to see what the fault code says. Hoping I can use the car over Xmas! Will report back on the fault. 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel

Good luck Jase. Mine is apparently due to a faulty temperature sensor. Went to the MD yesterday and was told that four people had already turned up there yesterday morning with warning lights lit up. All these lights maybe are a nod to the festivities! 2016 SDV8 AB |

I’m no expert but that P0234-77 is usually a stuck or sticking throttle valve. This sometimes causes Nox and other errors as a knock on effect. I would check the throttle valve before committing to further work. Usually an easy check and worth a look anyway - just push the valve closed with your finger and it should spring back if ok - if not needs cleaning or ‘adjusting’ or even a new throttle body. Seen this idea on ‘Riley mobile mechanic’ on YouTube - he seems to fix a lot of Land Rovers with similar issues. Worth a look?🤷♂️ Good luck👍 |

Do you know what, that's a good point. I had the throttle body replaced last year but even the new one has been the result of the car going in to restricted performance this year on a number of occasions. A clean has sorted it but this one confused me as no restricted performance. Just the steady check engine light. I really hope it isn't the turbo. 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel

Okay. Pulled the intake hose off and clean in and around the throttle valve. All was working perfectly and not sticking...just dirty. Maybe a small obstruction that freed up? 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel
