The real JLR HUD will not inform you about these more important parameters, IMHO it’s just a useless toy Twisted Evil “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

@Phoenix:

I’m wondering about these “missing parameters”, -could it be the firmware of the Vgate itself is old, rather than the phone App (Car Scanner Pro) needing a tweak? Surely, if it’s the App, that’s a simple update, however updating the hardware f/w is probably quite tricky? In other words, if the App finds a parameter unavailable from the hardware, is it then simply ignored, so is missing from the parameter list? (as in, even when “all sensors” is selected in the App).

Just asking the question, don’t have a clue TBH Sniggering Neutral

Maybe Kot or Luxmoggy can shed some light? “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

This is my thinking...

1. The dongle knows nothing about the car it is in, it only knows how to ask (when given a pid) for and get values.
2. The software tells the dongle to ask for value (PID) and when the results come display it.
3. The profile tells the software which values (PIDs) it can ask for and how to interpret the value.

I am hoping the new value is added to the profile I asked for, and then all of the values I want displayed for regens will be all together. SDV8 AB MY 2020

OK guys, and thank you both, I think I almost get that, but in that case, what is happening when I select “all sensors” yet a certain parameter is then missing from the available list? Sniggering
D-Oh! I’m just not getting it, excuse my ignorance Embarassed Banging Head Banging Head Banging Head

I guess the easier way to solve my prob is to ask what do I need to do to get the “Miles since last Regen“ added to the L405 TDV6 MY2017 profile? I don’t have the Dev email address?

Being quite honest, it’s hard for me to understand (and I guess perhaps many others to come) what does what, between the car, the Vgate dongle, and the phone App. Very grateful for your persistence chaps! Contact developer.

On your Phone app "Car Scanner Pro"

Go to settings, Contact developer tab, choose Other issue and describe your car make, model, engine etc and what you want adding remind him these are available on other RR profiles. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Hope this might help others that are as thick as me, but I contacted the developr regarding my 2015 3.0 SDV6 L405 he said:

Quote:
You can choose "Range Rover 2013-2016 V8 4.4 Diesel", it has the same readings table as your 3.0 V6 Diesel

He also said that dashboards within the app can be imported and exported.

I'm struggling to create the correct dashboard to show all the information others are posting, so if anybody would like to share their dashboard they have made for the Range Rover 2013-2016 V8 4.4 Diesel, it would be greatly appreciated..

Hello
Can’t see where we can share files on this site. PM me with an email and I will send it to you.

I have this profile at the moment

With these sensors (I haven’t renamed the sensors so should be easy to find)

This is the demo of that dashboard. The voltage will be changed for soot in grams when the profile is updated.

The profile has been updated. So I now have the %, g & km. So I should have the full picture when a regen happens for me.

Thank you both Bow down Bow down Bow down

I now have miles since last regen, so much more meaningful than metres!

Now I don’t need a degree in Mathematics to see what’s going on! Laughing “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
