Same here. I binned the old plugs and fitted a brand new genuine 13pin one for the sole purpose of charging via an adaptor and ctek.

Dead easy. I bought a 13pin 'dual entry' socket which is intended to allow conversion from 12N/S to 13pin and allows both the cables to be entered into the socket via a grommet with two cable entries. Just a case of matching the original cable assignments to the new socket. Easiest done by removing the entire sub-loom from where it plugs into the vehicle loom so it can be worked on at the bench. 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica. Did this mod today, just a standard 13-pin plug and a charger, couldn´t be any easier.

A curious question, would it be possible to do any modd so you can charge the battery at EV charger stations via the towing port? |

No idea, but if I were a betting man, I’d say no, as the battery technology is completely different and so charging rate, voltages etc will be massively different.

No, the EV stations use 400 volts ( not 12V ) , some of the newest ones for Porsche Taycan's etc use 800 volts ! |

400V/800V into a 12V battery, wow that would be super fast charging!⚡️ 💥 “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that? |
