Like dan_uk_1984 says, you want to be careful there (although with such a light load it shouldn't be an issue) - the thread in the roof is meant for clamping the foot of thr roof bar or roofrack, and is not designed for a load.

Look into the D3 forum - one of the guys managed to detach one of them from the roof somehow. Not easy to fix if it goes wrong

I have made up some clampy down things so that the bolt tightens down onto the fixing, just to help hold things in place, and reduce the possibility of lateral movement. .

Back again this time with 50kg of Topper on board (and the rest inside although the top part of the mast and the boom were a bit of a squeeze). Off to sail it tomorrow

i've also seen the 'holes' on the roof used to mount a cb aerial /bracket..

Yes, put them on last autumn with new Grabbers - my winter set - just not got round to switching back to the 20"'s ! .
