I have used this with previous vehicles. Works perfectly to hold the 2” tube tight in the receiver. Takes about five minutes to install or remove.

Later versions of this have an anti-rattle bolt on the right side as one faces the back of the car which is tightened in order to stop the rattling. Apart from a tendency to rust and so need to be replaced from time to time it works well enough. A picture of mine was posted by Red Merle and you should be able to find it using the search function. I would have thought that drilling and tapping a hole in the side of the receiver and buying an appropriate bolt and locknut would work just as well. The standard bolt is a bit short, so when tightened to the recommended torque there is no movement possible in the locknut, so a longer nut than standard might be better.

These were my immediate thought but looks like a tight fit. I have that bolt. It does resolve most of the horizontal movement, but it's the vertical that's the annoying sound/feeling. Thanks, read the post and will have a look at getting what Red merle got. __ 2018 L405 3.0 TDV6 Vogue SE Fuji White 2000 4.6 V8 HSE Oxford Blue 1994 3.9 V8 Vogue Ardennes Green - resto project Land Rover History: 2010 3.6 TDV8 Autobiography Stornoway Grey 2001 Discovery 2 TD5 GS 1999 Discovery 2 V8i XS 1994 Discovery 300Tdi 1993 Discovery 200Tdi 1989 Range Rover Vogue SE 3.5EFi 1976 Series 3 2.25 1977 Range Rover 2 door 3.5 Carb |

Surprising that you are still getting movement when the bolt is tight, I don't get that. Only Range Rovers since 1988 |

The clamp will fit. It can be installed in any of the four positions if needed. Dan. 🇨🇦 2013 L405 5.0 SCV8 |

I'm sure I just used an old credit card - but maybe not, maybe I just put up with it. I certainly didn't spend any money. On my very first Range Rover the tow hitch was just rusted in so it didn't rattle at all in fact the bastard didn't move at all - so there wasn't a problem apart from the fact that it annoyed me because I couldn't remove it. Just a question regarding my 2015 SDV8 Autobiography - I understood the car came as standard with an electrically deployable towbar . Fortunately my days of towing horse trailers is done but had occasion to be asked to tow a trailer only to find on closer examination that whilst all the deployment buttons are situated on the right hand side of the boot there was no tow bar to be seen underneath apart from a loose connection block . I dont think the previous owner towed anything so he might have sold the unit or it could have been removed during a service I am sure they are eye wateringly expensive if they can be bought as an aftermarket . Any suggestions on this would be welcome. |

I always figured they came as an optional extra. It's an expensive item to fit as you need the hardware and also a module to operate it. I had fitted a detachable towbar to my 16 plate autobiography just over a year ago for a little over the £1k from memory. |

Definitely an accessory or optional extra at build stage.
