Silicon free OAT is what is needed, the colour is pink/orange which changes slightly depending upon concentration. Also, don't use over 60% concentration, there are issues that can arise with plastic components, seals & corrosion if it is over 63%. 50% concentration is the recommended level.

Pre-mix will be diluted with filtered and de-ionised water which might seem over the top unless you live in a hard water area.
I wouldn't recommend diluting the concentrate with tap water if you do, even if you don't, it's only about £1/litre for de-ionised water anyway.

For the 4.4 TDV8, correct spec is WSS-M97B44-D (otherwise known as G12+ specification), specifically purple/violet in colour if you want to keep it original.

Febi Bilstein product number 19402 (original purple violet) - comes as concentrate. Dilute 50/50 with deionised water.

Mannol product number 4212 - comes ready mixed

If you buy standard over the counter red coolant, it may be G12+, it appears as a pinky/red/orange colour when diluted 50/50. The above are the pink/violet colour. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

I just read this topic. I note it mentions above about sucking some out.

Do not ever suck coolant out by sucking it using your mouth and a hose like we used to do to syphon petrol. A mouthful of coolant can kill you. There is a very specific amount : weight ratio which Doctors consider curtains as it will shut down your internal organs liver etc and it is not much! 2012 L322 4.4 TDV8 AB low mileage - a peach

G12 or G12+ are both categories of organic “long life” coolants - approx 4 years.
They have both been utilised in many cars since 1996. Both use ethylene glycol.

G12+ is made up of organic additives, as well as some mineral additives aka a "Hybrid Production" where silicate is used with carboxylate technology.

Crucially this mix has allowed G12+ to overcome a number of significant drawbacks of G12, the biggest of which was to take preventative action after corrosion was already happening in the system !

G13 and G13+ was introduced in 2008 - a more enviromentally produced coolant for cars, and now used in many newer cars in the last 10 years.
