Yes, the non fault ‘like for like’ replacement cars must be having a big impact on premiums. They are crazy prices vs what it would cost to rent the same car privately and often their idea of a fair replacement isn’t the same as mine would be!

Seen a report that thefts of LR's are run away, literally, in Khan's London and Burnham's Manchester. 90 cars a month being taken for a ride in London. This has led to a 30% drop in trade prices on most newer LR models and a 300% rise in insurance premiums; if you can actually get insurance offers in cities.

Pistonheads has a long running thread on LR insurance as well. Even LR are no longer offering LR Insurance for their vehicles cause the underwriters wont support it apparently.

Keyless isn’t the issue on the newer cars - criminals just find and exploit any method available. |

These cars are desirable for export to 3rd world countries so likley whatever security is fitted the thieves will find a way to take them as the demand is there. If they can't take them from the driveway they will move to home invasion and carjacking to get them. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
