I am in the process of purchasing an android upgrade for the infotainment unit
It sounds a bit of daft question but I will as anyway
I have DAB radio, am I therefore correct in assuming I have a DAB antenna which would connect to the new android unit. I need to establish this before ordering the android unit
Can anyone confirm this or point me in the right direction to find out, I have not removed the existing unit from the car

also is it absolutely necessary to install the GPS aerial which is supplied with the unit ?

any info would greatly received various other LR's this one is still the best

From when I was looking into doing this upgrade it seemed that as long as you used the GPS splitter wire then you didn’t need to install an additional GPS antenna as the new unit would use the existing car antenna. The DAB aerial simply unplugged from the original unit and into the new unit - simple as that.

It was the 4G antenna that was required as there is no way of linking into the inbuilt 4G antenna from what I understand.

a simple solution is to purchase DAB antenna and dongle with the android unit (£50), which I understand will upgrade to DAB plus

that should solve the issue, didn't think it was going to be so difficult to find out

as an aside I can't believe how technically tricky it is to decide on which android unit to choose various other LR's this one is still the best

been looking at getting one myself but cant decide on which one and also the wife doesn't like the idea of the microphone been stuck somewhere was thinking it could be connected to the cars microphone somehow ?,and going to get a gps splitter to use the cars gps
