Westfalia - towbar?

I'm thinking of putting a towbar on my MY14, and looking at the different choices in the threads in the forum. However, I have this sticker on the driver's door, and it looks like it refers to a Westfalia towbar. When I look under the rear of the car, I can see no bar installed at all.

Is this a standard sticker? Could it have been a PO that installed one, then removed it?

When you say you looked under the car, did you remove the under bumper panel as the tow bar ironwork will be there just missing the ball arm which would normally be located under your boot (trunk) cover by the spare wheel.

I removed the central plastic panel to check. It appears that just the original bar is in place - there's certainly no circular/vertical receptacle, and nothing in the trunk or wheel well

USA/CAN vehicles don’t use the same towing system as Europe. You don’t need to remove a panel on the bumper. You either have the square hole factory tow hitch for inserting a ball adapter or you don’t.

The European setup is much neater. I guess the feeling at LR must be Americans would find it too much effort to undo 4 plastic lugs and to then stow the panel.

No, it more likely has to do with the hitch requirements for the weight load.

I had to remove the panel on my D4. It was fine. I don’t have to remove the panel on my RR. I prefer that. I don’t care what it looks like. Dan. 🇨🇦 2013 L405 5.0 SCV8

My car is the same as in the posted video, that I have watched a couple of times before. I'd need a slightly different part number i think.

The panel I have would need replacing in the same way and there's clearly no receptor under the panel, only a stowaway spider (See pics)

SO - does that sticker simply reflect information in anticipation of a part that I clearly don't have?
