Thank you for all your help chaps - really appreciate it.

I just had a thought - is there a version of this part that is 4G? If I am going to replace it anyway I was wondering if there was an updated version with a 4G SIM card slot (for later 405's) as it would most likely still fit into the 2017 year.

Nope, not as far as I know, there’s a lot of discussion on here (and elsewhere) about the great 3G turnoff & what will happen. My SIM is 5G ready, but not the 2017 vehicle system, apparently! Big Cry
As always, I stand to be corrected by others more knowledgeable Embarassed “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

So my local dealership have said that would fit it for £21 and supply the part for £179 so I think I may just get them to do it, I really hope this will fix the issue - I cannot see what else it can be as I have now tried pretty much everything and it definitely is not working as it should.

I’d be inclined to do the same, given the chances of getting a duff s/h unit or breaking something, at that price. 👍🏼 “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
