Clunking from osf suspension over undulations/bumps

The car is a Passat.

The front right suspension clunks over undulations/bumps in the road surface.

I've done a check of the ball joints and all seem ok.

I've also taken a video of steering lock / Rock test: ?si=KFKr5rud2l03hfGA

I've also bounced the suspension up and down and got no noises. I did note that when jacked up, the dust boot is loose, but when holding under its own weight, it does press into the top.



Any ideas of the cause? I note the ticking sound which could signal the CV joint, but would this clunk? 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Try putting you hand nr components when the steering is being turned as you will feel any binding. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I figured it out in the end. The bearings gone inside the shock absorber. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
