module to module encryption would be the way to go but there will always be some clever geek that will crack it eventually, once they have the decryption key they'll be back out plugging little boxes into easy to access looms and driving away.

Make it hard they'll just revert back to coming in your house and removing the key from your hand at knifepoint.

The best way would be......

cure the problem and get rid of our woke european human rights act and laws that protect the criminals and not the victims, start chopping fingers off the theiving Censored, crime will soon start to drop rapidly. Current

I still have not seen one report of a 2018+ L405 thats been stolen with Ghost 2 fitted so guess we can all draw our own conclusions on that front.

You keep saying that - are you on commission?

Of course I'm aware of how they work (probably more than yourself), how they're fitted and how to find them. Most installers are on a price and will do a 'quick fit' in their favourite location on a particular vehicle, there's also other clues which anyone with a sharp mind and a good pair of eyes (and a torch!) will pick up in seconds.
If I was in the aftermarket equipment 'game', I'm sure there would be common unwritten workarounds for most if not all immobilisers. The best anyone can hope for is to slow 'them' down so they move on hopefully without trashing your car in the process. A bit like putting a house alarm box where it's visible will (hopefully) make them move on to your less well protected neighbour.

I fitted a Ghost2 but I'm convinced it messed with the electronics - screen glitches, ICE problems, error messages and the like, I'm not sure I'd fit one again. MY19 SDV8 Autobiography

Lazarus-like thread resurrection…. I read about the Ampire on Bodsy’s Facebook page so scuttled over to their website where it says, and I quote: NOTICE: CURRENTLY NOT WORKING WITH LANDROVER VEHICLES! Even though my car is listed in their compatibility charts. Needless to say, no chance of speaking to anyone at Ampire, so not sure what the issue is. 2018 L405 4.4 SDV8 Autobiography

I got Ghost fitted and am very happy with it. Following some improper installs, which have resulted in the system being bypassed, the installer said there's now only a select number of installation locations AutoWatch will warrant on Land Rover vehicles and a particular ECU is best. Obviously I won't say how many, where or which ECU.

Other key things are to ensure you have a tracker fitted, ideally one both yourself and the police can track, use a good steering wheel lock when going away for any amount of time, and turn keyless entry off. There is one other way a thief is highly unlikely to detect, which costs around £40. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Good info Gary, I have the ghost, a steering lock, trackers and disabled the keyless entry. What is the mod you suggest? Can you DM me rather than putting it on the open forum? First time FFRR owner
