Lastly the car seems to not read my oil level either (its just had an oil service but would be useful to know this is working) - everytime I go to check the oil it just says cannot get a reading.

To read Oil level
Simply pull the bonnet release, get in and press the start buttton (without your foot on the brake).

Press "OK" to clear any warnings ( including'bonnet open' )- once they are clear, do the oil check as normal but when it comes up "unavailable" press 'cancel' on the cruise control twice - your oil level shows! 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

I cannot work out how to update the map, I have gone through the website again, added my car (which it never seems to remember on the maps and services page) and it just keeps telling me the update (map) should appear when I sign into the nav in the car but it doesn’t. Is there a subscription I need to take out for this and if there is where is it as I cannot find anything on the website.

I dont know when the maps changed over, but with the facelift 2018 they have Here maps, 2017 I do not know maybe Gremlin can confirm.
Do you haver the remote app on your phone?

It had already had the previous owner removed and I can add my car to the main InControl account but the Maps and Services seems to need a different account and that just wont let me add my car to it.

Yes it has Here maps and yes I have pro services and the app (and Wi Fi hotspot too). It’s that here.com website I am talking about where I can’t add my car.

My Nav account has a different password to my Remote account. So yes you need to register at here and pay lol and log into Nav in your car with the new here password.
Any issues you need to contact Incontrol and Here. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

I have a '17 model year and have map updates on subscription that still actually update - albeit at some effort each time.

I think we're more likely to lose function from the 3G switch off than from stopping map updates. Mike - MPx

@DamienK:

Contact LR Customer Service.
As in the threads I linked to on page 1, with my 2017 car, the previous owner had not bothered to remove his account from the vehicle, which may be your exact issue? It took them 2 attempts to sort it.
Get the battery monitor I linked to on AE also, its cheap and effective in checking battery SOH. If your battery is weak, you will have issues updating Maps.

Thumbs Up Good luck! “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

@DamianK:

After re-reading your original post, have you understood exactly how Maps are updated as a new owner?
i.e. they are not updateable directly to the car over-the-air, by either wifi or SIM card?
You need to subscribe to a paid maps subscription, download the map to USB stick via PC, then insert & upload to the car via USB stick.
Only the “System” software is updateable “OTA”, not the maps.

Once you have the correct file on the USB stick, and put it in the car, the car should recognise it and prompt for the upload to continue, it will take 20-30 mins on a car with good battery SOH.

Just saying this for clarity….. Whistle “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

Yes but that’s the issue, I cannot add my car to my map account so cannot re subscribe and then download the maps. I can add the car to my main InControl account and see my other subscriptions (I tried to add `Spotify here, and although I linked it through the website it’s not showing up in my Live section) but on the maps account my car will just not add so therefore I cannot then get the option to subscribe.

Is there an email address for them? I am having no joy in finding one.

It’s frustrating this just doesn’t seem to work.

@Kot:

Thanks mate, you beat me to it! Bow down Thumbs Up

Good luck Damian! -I had similar with mine when I first got it, took JLR two goes to get the old owner profile off the vehicle, I had to send them proof of ownership also, then the bl**dy maps wouldn’t install due to a weak battery, it’s all on here somewhere…… “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?
