well going on from the last suspension issues (which was a flipped sensor) we were driving on Saturday when suddenly the car started to lift at the front and become very bouncy then within quick succession there was two load explosions and the front dropped to the bump stops

managed to drive it back home but I'm assuming the air bags have blown, so having looked on-line it appears to be reasonably easy to replace the bags but I'm concerned that it will do the same once i install new ones, anyone have experience or tips?

Not exactly the same, but i think its an issue where the cars rarely used in wading/off road height.
I raised mine up to allow me to see more underneath about 1min into looking a loud bang and car dropped, scared the life out of me as i was almost underneath.
I think if the rubber isn't exercised they get perished in a certain spot then raising increases pressure and they let go on a crease. Mine had about an inch long split.
Difference being i intentionally raised mine, yours if i am right did it on its own, what speed were you doing? as if under 30mph could you have caught the button?
Failing that an incorrect ride height calibration and car thinks its lower than it was?

was actually stationary at traffic lights, but yes i think calibration might come in to it somewhere

I replaced 2 front bags last summer from Island4x4 online and have had no issues with them since. A fairly easy and straightforward job, assuming you can get the struts off ok.  Cheers, Steven.

the video on the internet was from the USA so didn't have the same rust/dirt issues as mine so those bolts just 'fell out' so know what you mean... did you do anything after reassembly (calibration etc?) or did it just settle on it's own?

Hi, no calibration afterwards was required. We cycled thorough all height settings and the car found its level again. If you have the GAP IID tool calibration can be done anytime after if necessary. Cheers, Steven.
