2010-2012 heated steering wheel retrofit

Hello

I don’t own a Range Rover yet, I’m looking at various options here locally. I managed to find a couple of nice Autobiography Supercharged variants. One of them though doesn’t have a heated steering wheel, despite having both front and rear heated seats and rear reclining seats.

Is it easy to retrofit a heated steering wheel from another 2010-2012 Range Rover? I know I would need a full steering wheel and the heating module behind the airbag I believe. Would I need anything else such as the clock spring for the steering wheel, would I need a different wiring harness or does it come pre-wired from factory.

Honestly I was hoping to get a TDV8 4.4 but those aren’t available locally here at all. So I’m targeting Supercharged variants with autobiography being an added bonus. I thought those would have most options listed as standard, but apparently not.

🤣 well that’s good point. I just like the idea of having that option regardless, and was wondering if it could be done.

Yes I realize how you might find this hilarious, but my question is about whether or not it is possible not if it should or shouldn’t be done based on the climate where I reside.

If you have technical know how or experience pulling this off, then please by all means share it…if not then what’s the point of your reply

Also shouldn’t all Autobiography Supercharged RR have most of these options as standard, including 360 cameras, adaptive headlights, rear seat TV in the front seat headrests etc?

Cheers Stan, you beat me to it.

Stan beat me to it AG129, this is what I was writing in reply, there is plenty of info in the Wiki and search functions, as you are new here, you may not know the site well yet, perfectly understandable.

Another old thread post similar to Stan's link is shown below

You could ask at your local JLR dealer, or try asking at a good independent specialist, they will be able to answer your question, then go from there.

Once you get to know the site, it will be obvious that whilst many of us can be comedians at times, we do go out of our way using our time to help others. Differ with decorum is my motto.

Thanks a lot Stan. It seems this might be doable, I’ll research it more. Also the forum Wiki link in your sig is a big help. I was looking for something like that for the L322 prior to purchase.

Cheers Merchy and thanks for the link as well. I’m just trying to get as much knowledge about the last iteration of the l322 2010-2012 as I can before I make a purchase.

Interesting, Webasto was installed to all L322? Even for hot countrys, like Dubai? If so, there is a lot of never used heaters.
