Hi all,

As titled, yesterday my air con was blowing cold, today not ?
It’s not even cool more like Luke warm ?
Has it regassed a few weeks ago, pressure checked for leaks, refilled etc and worked fine ?
It only had about 20/30g missing when it was done so like I say no leaks.
Should I be able to see / hear the compressor kick in ?
Should the revs slightly increase when it’s turned on ?
Could it be a fuse / relay ?
Really strange this but defo can’t cope without air con 😂

Yeah gonna get it plugged in. If compressor has failed will that flag a code ?

Happened to me day after re-gas, cost me a new compressor in the end, hope you have more luck 'cos it's not cheap. RR owner

it's probably the valve. well-known fault. It's as easy to replace the compressor as strip it out and replace the valve alone. Lots on here. Do a search.

My guess is you have a leak. If had 20/30g in system then that is empty ( 20g is what’s stored in the lines of air con machine) the initial vacuum test may have passed , allowing the system to be gassed. However when system running it can be up to 10 bar. Which would push the gas out if a pin hole. First thing to do is see if any gas in system, if not then that’s your problem. You would need a nitrogen test carried out to try and find leak (s). My guess would be condenser. Hope it helps.

Got her booked in at my mates to do a service and look into this air con issue.

Question, is there anywhere on here that lists part numbers?

Looking for the compressor and the condenser part numbers incase it’s one of those !

Looks like the compressor is fitted on most Range Rover landrover models ?

I hope you manage to get it sorted. I have a leaking condenser (covered under warranty), but the seals required to fit it, are on back order of “at least 2 months”. My local dealer even tried to source non-JLR seals (or so they claim), but no joy. So no aircon for a few months now and no stop-start as a result.
Not too bad trundling round local area, but it’s grim on the motorway with all windows and sunroof open!

Had codes read and I’ve got P1308-13 air conditioning clutch circuit open.

Pointing to a compressor ???

The clutch not operating could be down to low pressure in the system preventing the clutch engaging. This is done from the pressure relay to prevent the compressor starting up and then pulling a vacuum on the low suction side.

If you have OBD scan tool that reads the AC module then it'll tell you what the system pressure is. If it is under 70psi standing then you will likely have a low charge. If its under 25psi you have a leak problem. If its zero you have a total loss, likely holed condenser. The RR readout is in kpa rather than psi, multiply by around 7 to get the kpa value.

When my mate is back off holiday an it goes in, he’s gonna check the pressure of the system to see if it’s full and pressurised and holding pressure

If it is I’d assume the compressor int kicking in.
