Remote receiver 2003 (BMW era)

Am having trouble getting my key(s) to sync to car after changing battery(s).
Saw a video yesterday where the guy took the remote receiver out of the upper tailgate and showed some dust around the inside of the remote. What he DIDNT show was how to get it apart so that I could check
if that is my problem regarding the key(s).
Can anybody enlighten me as to how to get into the inards please.
TIA.

Changing the battery won't effect that piece, did you use new branded batteries, lots have found the remotes only work with new, fresh, top spec batteries....

If you want to get that open then it looks like it has a screw in each corner... maybe not though, if it hasn't then a lot of these things are sonic welded together so you would have to cut it open.... Pete

Hi Hylands,
On the four corners there appears to be plastic grommets in there but the top of them is like a circular dip with no capacity to get a grip on them. I'll get a pic of them when daylight happens later.
