Could be the ECU that's at fault. It should be under the passenger side fusebox on that model car. Easy to get to and get out, just unplug the plugs and take it out. They are cheap enough on eBay, just make sure the part numbers match as they are different ECU's for pre 2010 steps.

So went to have the car checked by Matt 4x4 today they took off the side steps to put the car on the lift, they had a bit of a look, they managed to get them to deploy by putting them in service mode, however as soon as they came out they went back in. They think a terrain response warning is stopping them deploy so possibly not the ecu as we had thought. They did say they are great when they work but are a bit of a night mare! Current

Yes the terrain response was throwing an error, need to look into this a bit more as wasn't coming up on the Gap but was showing on their diagnostic. Will be doing some more digging and will update you was good to see them working and that they were not siezed!!! Current

No, not the dsc button the deployable side step button. I haven't been able to find any issues with my terrain response since the specialist said it was throwing an error, only issue I have now is the steering column longitudinal sensor. Current
